To Buy! Only To Buy!

It has come to my attention that among tomorrow's new comics will be Spider-Man House of M #1. While I may not be all that interested in the House That M Built or its multitude of crossed-over titles, I will be buying this book and I suggest that you do the same. Why? Because it's written by Tom Peyer, author of the extremely awesome blog SUPERFRANKENSTEIN!!! Without his site, the amount of Jesus-freak web sites that I email to my friends as though I discovered them would dwindle to nearly zero. Support his comics so that he may continue doing his real work, which is alerting me to the existence of people like Jan Small, painter of patriotic Jesus.

On your advice and against my better judgement, I bought Spider-Man: House of M. The art looks good, and the writers are tested, but... I just can't put my finger on it, but something about the name "House of M" repells me. I avoid everything with that in the name.

It just seems so fricken' pretentious, you know?

I don't know about "pretentious"... I would just say "crappy."

As for that Spider-Man book, it could well be the lamest book since West Coast Avengers, but damn I get a kick out of the writer's blog.

You know what's a great fricken' book? Ultimate Spider-man. I've been reading all the trades again, this time back to back. I'm up to #8. God diggety damn, that is a great book. It's everything comics are meant to be.

USM is good stuff. I might be a trade or two behind though - the last one I read was the Carnage arc where Gwen Stacy buys it. Has there been another one?

There have been 2 more trades since then.

As I told you in the comic shop, House of M was shit. I didn't really care for the whole "Given the chance, Peter Parker would be a total dick" storyline.
